I like Edwidge Danticat's fiction very much but haven't read her essays yet. Let's talk about TJ Klune... they keep showing up in my recs since I like Becky Chambers's Monk and Robot.
I've yet to read her essays myself, but I do enjoy her fiction. The Klune books have happy endings and lots of mayhem in between. I've just started the first Chambers book, so I'm not sure how they compare.
